He is a registered Professional Engineer and Diplomate, Board Certified Specialist in General Environmental Engineering. In 1999, he was elected to the National Academy of Engineering. Schnoor’s research interests include toxic chemical fate and transport, surface and groundwater quality modeling, greenhouse gas modeling and mitigation, phytoremediation, and exposure and risk assessment. Schnoor has edited or co-edited five books and authored the textbook, Environmental Modeling, (John Wiley and Sons, 1996), which is used by graduate programs throughout the world. He is the author of more than 150 articles in peer-reviewed journals, and is Series Editor (with A.J.Zehnder) of the Wiley Interscience Series of Texts and Monographs in Environmental Science and Technology.
